Andrew Stuart is a freelance designer and artist from Boston. His work has been seen with Breakthrough Theatre, Rough and Tumble Theatre, The Lyric Stage Company of Boston, The Boston Conservatory, The Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and The Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School in Waltham, MA where he served as the Technical Theatre teacher. He has also functioned as Assistant Charge Artist for The Huntington Theatre Company and has worked as an artist for Seismic Scenic, The Lyric Stage, Boston University Theatre, Boston Celebrity Series, Boston Conservatory, WGBH for ZOOM, and recently, for Bob Lawson's Magic Flute with Granite State Opera. Andy is now the Assistant Charge for Visual Design Associates, an event design group in Somerville, MA. This marks his 6th season designing at Andy's, having also previously served as Production Manager, among other things. Andy holds a BA in Technical Theatre and Design from Franklin Pierce College where his design for Bob Lawson's Poison|Heart received National Winner of The KC/ACTF Barbizon Award for Scenic Design Excellence. This Fall Andy will initiate work on his MFA in Scene Design (and puppet making) at University of Massachusetts Amherst.
